ORIGINAL St HILDA's at SUNSET '26
Sheila's Mam- Doris Graber-Fitzgerald worked in her Grandad Hunt's herbalist shop in the market place from the age of 11 in 1912.
Her love of Nature and St. Hilda's church was passed on to her and it was at her Mam's suggestion in 1976 that Sheila set off with her cartridge paper pinned to her A1 drawing board and dippy in pen and ink to draw it. The original drawing was given to a friend years ago - but she has re-painted in striking sunset colours in 2026.
£60 helps keep our charities going.
If you love the place as much as she does you might feel like donating to our 3 charities and investing in this original watercolour.or maybe Sheila's book "Sheila from Shields" featuring the Groyne and other paintings of Shields along with work by loads of folks she taught and quite a few well known Geordie faces from Pam Royle to Mike Neville.
