Sheila has drawn and painted this much loved Shields landmark at the mouth of the Tyne since the 1950's . In her youth she had no problem running up the spiral metal staircase clutching a large A1 drawing board and wooden box with dippy in pens and ink bottles. From the top she could catch the amazing view that stretched before her. In 1962 it included Esso OIl Drums and an active Pilot Jetty...and this is the result. The original A1 painting sold last year but prints are now available.
