The rain stopped so Sheila was off again to her favourite spot this month - sitting on the Sea wall near the Groyne -South Shields. She has drawn and painted this from 1962 - as you can see in this pencil sketch drawn when she was 22 and catching not only a pilot cutter entering the Tyne but the Concrete Block Tank Traps in the foreground to keep out invading armies.. which happily they did! Reflecting on the past AND the present as today August 15th '23 there were very clear reflections of the Groyne in the water - surprising on this quite windy day. Even the Weebles were impressed.
