PRINT- _ MONKTON COKE WORKS

Created at the request of Shields Gazette Editor Michael Blackah in 1986 for a Calendar depicting Local Scenes. Sheila drew them all on the spot .. all originals are sold but these prints live on. This one is of Monkton Coke works, remembered fondly by the people who worked there but not so by the neighbours who put up with the fumes and acrid smell for years. Sheila herself really enjoys drawing machinery and buildings as she is interested in showing how things work.. plenty work to show in this drawing.
