Sheila's Dad became Tyne Pilot Master in 1947 when she was 7 but would not move into the actual Pilot Office until the widow of the former Pilot Master died in 1960 - as he did not want to "Leave her homeless"

This was the FIRST VIEW she painted from her bedroom/studio window - he was knocked out by the fact she now lived opposite such a stunning panorama of the river - where she could paint day or night ..a magic that has lasted all her life.
