Sheila has drawn & painted the North Shields Fish Quay with it's High & Low Lights" since 1962 when she lived opposite them in the Pilot Office when her Dad was Tyne Pilot Master. She has recently been "drawn" literally to the Little Haven and started making studies of the views from that great vantage point... she says it's like "Coming Home." This freezing January evening armed with thermals, wooly gloves, and big flask of coffee she made up her mind to try to paint the Fish Quay as the lights came on ... She managed to get the main body of the scene done - in both A4 and A5 format.. then gave in and drove home - got warmed up and added reflections in pastel and white paint.
