2017 Sheila was sitting comfortably at a table outside Dame Bellas Coffe shop at the Customs House using watercolours and pen to catch the Merchant Navy Memorial (her Dad was a MN Captain during WW2 so it is very special for her) and the Wooden Piles to his left which is all that remains of the Coal Staithes. In the 1970’s Sheila stood clutching her A1 drawing board and Dippy in Pen & Ink drawing the Staithes that were busy loading coal carried on the Marsden rattler in trucks from Whitburn Pit .. which she drew in pencil whist at Art College in 1958. All these originals have been sold - but the A4 Framed prints are available as a historical record .
