Sheila has got to thinking that Shields - along with Sunderland and many other places is losing it's church buildings as they are either put to other uses or pulled down. So she is going through her collection of drawings of churches done on the spot in their hey-day and trying to bring them back to life for posterity in paintings . This one is SUNDERLAND MINSTER SUNSET 2017. That year Sheila and her colleague Jen Miller were invited to hold a charity sale at the Minster so she stood outside and drew it in pencil - later colouring it in and creating postcards of it to sell. Here she has added a powerful sunset and glowing jewel like windows to catch the magic of a building that is a significant part of Sunderland's heritage, some suggesting it dates as far back as 940AD.
