34 years after painting the cranes on the Tyne Sheila returned to exactly the same spot in 2004 on River Drive and made a water colour sketch of the view at night.. later to become this large oil painting. The ONLY item that is the same is the Ferry Landing - lit up as a neon strip far left of the painting and visible as an arched bridge on the left of the 1970's version. There were no Pile Driver sounds .. in fact only passing traffic on the road - not the river.
